About Our Pastor
Doctor Syvalla Morrison Washington

She earned educational certifications in Biblical Studies from the First Born Seminary and Training School in Waycross, GA and Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA.
On January 19, 2003, Pastor Washington was elevated to Overseer by Apostle R. F. Garner, Founder and President of the First Pentecostal Church of Deliverance, Inc. Over 35 years of serving God and His people was culminated in Overseer Washington receiving an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters from Judah Bible Ministry on October 15, 2006. At least nine (9) ministries have been birthed during her pastoral tenure.
Syvalla Morrison was born March 27, 1936 to Belton and Sarah Thomas Morrison in Robeson County, NC. She is the eldest of five children, three girls and two boys. Her parents, sisters and brothers are deceased.
Ira Daniel Washington was the man who won her heart’s affection, and in May 1953 they were married in Dillon, SC. This union has been blessed with six children: Ira Jr., Linda, Sandra, Aliesa, Diana, and Richard; nineteen grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Deacon Washington laid down the cares of this world on March 15, 2019, and is resting in the bosom of Abraham!
Doctor Washington has a genuine love for people and a zeal for lost souls. She can often be seen stopped along MLK Drive and in various neighborhoods trying to reach the unreached and to gain souls for the Kingdom of God. She is often called upon to pray for the sick by people of all races, and from all walks of life.
